Wounded Rhymes is the follow up to 2008’s critically-acclaimed debut, Youth Novels, and was produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn & John, and recorded in Stockholm, Sweden.

Lykke Li performs at 6 PM tonight at Amoeba Hollywood.  All Amoeba shows are FREE and all ages.  For more information, check out Amoeba’s Live Shows Page.

Cold War Kids Celebrate the Release of “Mine is Yours” LP with Amoeba In-store, TODAY!

Long Beach quartet, Cold War Kids, take the Amoeba stage tonight in celebration of the release of their third full-length album, Mine is Yours. The album was recorded over three months in Nashville and Los Angeles with producer Jacquire King, who includes Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, and Modest Mouse among his long list of collaborators.

Mine is Yours is a strong departure from Cold War Kid’s previous albums Robbers & Cowards and Loyalty To Loyalty, where lyrics explored narratives from various characters’ perspectives.  This time around, lead singer Nathan Willett mined new material from personal experiences.  “I was reading things and thinking about Michael Stipe and R.E.M, and their whole evolution,” the frontman tells Rolling Stone.  “They started with the kind of lyrics that were more or less kind of just good-sounding words, and then kind of moved into really revealing something about themselves — that was my goal.”

Be witness to Cold War Kids getting up close and personal, TONIGHT!

Cold War Kids perform at 6 PM, TONIGHT, at Amoeba Hollywood.  All Amoeba shows are FREE and all ages.  For more information, check out Amoeba’s Live Shows Page.

Cold War Kids‘ third full-length album Mine is Yours releases TODAY, January 25th via Downtown Records.  The full album is currently available for streaming via Cold War Kids’ MySpace Page.
