“Dance for Equality” in L.A. With Moby, The Crystal Method, and Shepard Fairey, TONIGHT!!
MoveOn.org Civic Action and the Courage Campaign join forces tonight for “Dance for Equality,” a benefit to continue the fight against Prop 8, and to help restore marriage equality in California.
“Dance for Equality,” comes on the heels of recent developments in Proposition 8 litigation, including news that the latest Prop 8 appeal is headed to the California Supreme Court, and news that Attorney General Kamala Harris requested the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to dismiss its order prohibiting same-sex marriages until the appeal case is resolved.
Tonight’s benefit at the Avalon features DJ sets from Moby, The Crystal Method, and renowned street artist Shepard Fairey, as well as sets by DJ Dan and Jason Bentley, host of KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic.”
Lisa Edelstein (“House”), Heather Graham, director-writer Paul Haggis and AIDS Quilt creator, Cleve Jones, serve as hosts for the event.
“Dance for Equality” takes place tonight, March 2nd from 8 PM – 2 AM, at Avalon in Hollywood. Tickets are $25 in advance / $35 at the door.
