MoveOn.org Civic Action and the Courage Campaign join forces tonight for “Dance for Equality,” a benefit to continue the fight against Prop 8, and to help restore marriage equality in California.

Tonight’s benefit at the Avalon features DJ sets from Moby, The Crystal Method, and renowned street artist Shepard Fairey, as well as sets by DJ Dan and Jason Bentley, host of KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic.”

Lisa Edelstein (“House”), Heather Graham, director-writer Paul Haggis and AIDS Quilt creator, Cleve Jones, serve as hosts for the event.

“Dance for Equality” takes place tonight, March 2nd from 8 PM – 2 AM, at Avalon in Hollywood.  Tickets are $25 in advance / $35 at the door.

Scare Up a Terrifyingly Good Time This Hallows Eve at the KCRW Halloween Masquerade Costume Ball

If the regular old haunted house or ghost tour just won’t cut it this Halloween, go all out with L.A.’s-own KCRW, as the radio station plays host to the second-annual KCRW Halloween Masquerade Costume Ball & Dance Party.  The Masquerade includes a special DJ set by Cut Chemist, live performances by The Duke Spirit and Gram Rabbit, and 14 of KCRW’s resident DJ’s spinning into the witching hour.

In addition to the aural decadence, the Masquerade also features 5 uniquely themed rooms, 4 stages, interactive experiences with the vaudeville circus troupe, Lucent Dossier, tales of the macabre with L.A.’s finest storytellers, and a handful of frightfully tasty artisan food trucks.

KCRW Halloween Masquerade Costume Ball & Dance Party takes place on Saturday, October 30th at the Legendary Park Plaza.  General admission is $75, and $85 at the door (cash only).  The event is 21+ and ticket holders will be required to show ID at the door.  For more information, visit the Official 2010 Masquerade Website.
