Stream LCD Soundsystem’s Final Show Live from Madison Square Garden, Saturday

After 3 albums and 9 years, LCD Soundsystem are headed for retirement; but the band’s not sulking quietly away into the sunset.  New Jersey native, James Murphy, and his crew are going out with a bang, selling out NYC’s Madison Square Garden in a matter of minutes.  Unfortunately, scalpers snapped up countless tickets for the show before fans could get their hands on them; so to appease die-hards, and drive down scalped ticket prices, the band added a 4-night run of gigs this week at Terminal 5, leading up to the big show, Saturday, April 2nd.

For the MSG finale, the band promises a nearly three hour-long concert, with many surprises and special guests planned.  If you didn’t secure your spot at the Garden, or you’re a fan from the rest of the U.S. of A, check out the live concert webcast, hosted by in conjunction with Smashbox.

The final LCD Soundsystem performance goes down in the history books on Saturday, April 2nd at 9PM EST / 6 PM PST.  It is a one-time-only broadcast, and will not be replayed.  Check out the live LCD Soundsystem MSG webcast, HERE.

Muppets Rock Out With Their Fluff Out, Staging a Rooftop Rendition of LCD Soundsystem’s “Dance Yrself Clean”

"Kermit vs Paparazzi" by Lonecow

The new unofficial video for LCD Soundsystem’s “Dance Yrself Clean,” directed by Javier Douglas, features the Muppet crew staging a guerrilla Beatles-style rooftop performance for a surprised and delighted crowd in Brighton, England.

The raucous (albeit low-budget) concert features free-wheelin’ performances by Kermit on lead vocals, Baby Cookie Monster on keys, and Animal pulling double duty as drummer and after-party DJ.  Miss Piggy also gets in the mix, using her undeniable sex appeal as lead backup dancer.  Additionally, the video features random scenes of romantic date footage between Kermit and Miss Piggy, after-party hijinks, and Cookie and Animal getting drunk at the beach.

By far, the highlight of the video is at the 3:08 mark, where the song really kicks into high gear and the crowd goes wild.  Priceless!

This music video is a reunion of sorts for Kermit the Frog and LCD Soundsystem.  In 2008, Kermit took the mic for his rendition of LCD’s “New York, I Love You, But You’re Bringing Me Down,” directed by Simon Owens.

See both videos below.
